DEUST Applied Geosciences, Mines, Water and Environment

Graduate Diploma in Scientific and Technical University Studies (DEUST) Department of Science and Technology

The Diploma of Scientific and Technical University Studies (DEUST) is a short two-year professional course. The objective of this DEUST is to train senior, multi-purpose technicians in the various application fields of geology, mining exploration, mining environment and water resources that will be operational straight after graduation. The skills acquired in topography are suitable for the student to join a team of surveyors-topographers.
The DEUST is open to twenty students per class and candidates are selected through an application process. This course is available in the first year to graduates with a bachelor’s degree in science. Direct admission into the second year is possible for students who have a bachelor’s degree in Natural and Life Sciences (geology).
At the end of each of the two years of study, the student must complete a work internship – minimum of 4 weeks (end of the first year) and minimum 6 weeks (end of the second year).
