Degree in Economics and Management

Bachelor’s Degree Department of Law, Economics and Management

The principal objectives of the Economics and Management Degree are the acquisition of the core theoretical frameworks and models of economics as well as the basics of management techniques. This course puts the different types of knowledge into perspective with their applications to contemporary economic and management problems. Part of the course covers the specific context of New Caledonia: socio-economy of New Caledonia, French and New Caledonian taxation. The lessons effectively cover the fields of economics, management, mathematics, probability and statistics. This degree is intended for high school graduates with strong analytical skills, specifically targeting those with a general baccalauréat (ES, S).

In 2018, UNC opened an Economics and Management Degree in Koné. With around fifty undergraduate students (compared to 200 first-year students on the Nouméa University campus) and more than 270 hours of tutorials (TD) and practical work (TP), this individualised course provides an improved transition between high school and university conditions.

At the end of this course, the students continue their Bachelor’s Degree on the university campus of Noumea.
