Le PIURN, réseau des universités insulaires du Pacifique, vient de recruter un chargé de mission. Ce recrutement s’effectue dans le cadre d’un volontariat de solidarité internationale, fruit d’un partenariat entre l’UNC et France Volontaires.
Renforcer la collaboration
Le PIURN a pour objectif de renforcer la collaboration stratégique et institutionnelle en matière de recherche, de formation, et d’échanges, pour contribuer de manière plus structurée à l’émergence d’un espace régional de recherche dans le Pacifique Sud. Il réunit aujourd’hui 13 universités.
L’UNC, membre fondateur, est fortement impliquée dans le PIURN depuis sa création en 2013. L’UNC a été l’université organisatrice et d’accueil de la première conférence du réseau qui regroupait les délégations scientifiques et institutionnelles des universités membres (Papouasie Nouvelle-Guinée, Fidji, Samoa, Polynésie française) et des invités des grandes universités régionales (Australian National University, University of Auckland, University of Hawaii). Par ailleurs, plusieurs projets innovants portés par l’UNC depuis 2017 démarrent au sein du PIURN.
Le réseau du PIURN a déjà organisé deux conférences scientifiques (2014 en Nouvelle-Calédonie ; 2016 aux Samoa). La troisième conférence aura lieu en Polynésie française en octobre 2018.
Animation du réseau
Lors de sa dernière réunion, le comité directeur du PIURN a recruté un chargé de mission, Iswar GUIRY, qui aura pour mission d’animer le réseau :
- identifier des pistes de coopération possibles ;
- faire émerger des projets de coopération scientifiques ;
- participer à l’organisation de la 3e conférence qui se tiendra en octobre prochain en Polynésie française.
PIURN: a project manager to facilitate the network
The Pacific Islands Universities Research Network (PIURN) has recruited a project manager as a “Volunteer for International Solidarity” within the framework of a partnership between the UNC and France Volontaires.
Reinforce the collaboration
The PIURN aims to enhance the strategical and institutional collaboration in the areas of research, training, and exchange in order to contribute to the emergence of a structured regional research area in the Pacific region. It currently gathers 13 universities.
The UNC, founding member, is highly involved in the PIURN since its creation in 2013. The UNC hosted the 1st Pacific Islands Research Network Conference, which gathered scientific and institutional delegations from the member universities (Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, French Polynesia) and guests from major regional universities (Australian National University, University of Auckland, University of Hawaii). Moreover, many innovative projects led by the UNC since 2017 have begun within the PIURN.
The PIURN already organized two scientific conferences (2014 in New-Caledonia; 2016 in the Samoa Islands). The 3rd conference will take place in the French Polynesia on October 2018.
Facilitation of the network
During its last meeting, the PIURN Board has recruited a project manager, Iswar GUIRY, who will be in charge of the facilitation of the network:
- Identify potential cooperation topics ;
- Foster the emergence of scientific collaborative projects;
- Participate in the 3rd Conference organization which will be held on October 2018 in French Polynesia.
