L’Université Nationale de Vanuatu (UNV) et l’Université de la Nouvelle-Calédonie (UNC) ont officiellement signé trois accords clés pour renforcer leur partenariat. Il s’agit d’un protocole d’accord général, d’un accord de mobilité étudiante afin de créer de nouvelles opportunités d’échanges et de stages, ainsi que d’un accord-cadre permettant d’accueillir un volontaire financé par l’UNC grâce au Fonds Pacifique pour soutenir la collaboration avec l’UNV.
Le Président de l’UNV, M. Jean-Pierre Nirua, a souligné que « le Vanuatu a placé l’éducation de qualité et la mise en valeur de ses ressources humaines nationales comme une priorité non seulement pour améliorer son propre développement économique, social et culturel, mais aussi pour devenir une nation du Pacifique de premier plan dans l’enseignement tertiaire et supérieur. »
Catherine Ris, présidente de l’UNC, rappelle que “cet accord vient consolider une collaboration ancienne et solide dans l’enseignement supérieur, la recherche et la francophonie. Il contribue également à renforcer la coopération académique régionale au sein du PIURN, dont nos deux universités sont membres.”

Strengthening Regional Ties in Higher Education!
The National University of Vanuatu (NUV) and the University of New Caledonia (UNC) have officially signed three landmark agreements to deepen our partnership. These include a general Memorandum of Understanding, a student mobility agreement to create new opportunities for exchange and internships, and a framework to welcome a volunteer funded by UNC with a grant from the Pacific Fund to support collaboration at NUV.
NUV’s Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Jean-Pierre Nirua, highlighted that “Vanuatu has placed quality education and the development of its national human resources as a top priority to drive our economic, social, and cultural development and to become a leading Pacific nation in tertiary and higher education. NUV highly values the collaborative arrangements that we develop and maintain with partner universities and institutions. UNC has been a long-time partner of NUV, and I am particularly happy that we are able to strengthen our working relationships with new MOUs”
Catherine Ris, President of UNC, “notes that this agreement strengthens a long-standing and solid collaboration in higher education, research, and Francophonie. It also contributes to reinforcing regional academic cooperation within PIURN, of which our two universities are members.”
