L’Institut de sciences exactes et appliquées (UNC) organise, un séminaire scientifique le vendredi 26 octobre à 14h sur la thématique « On asymptotic of continued fraction digits », par Hiroki Takahashi Mathématicien, Keio University, Japon.

Continued fraction expansions allow us to approximate irrational numbers
by rational ones. The asymptotic behavior of digits appearing in the expansion
has been studied since the time of Carl Friedrich Gauss. We show that the arithmetic mean
of the digits follow a fundamental probabilistic law.
